Replacement of burners on a 200 m tower
Rigging and rope access for the replacement of three burners on a 200-meter-tall tower in Yanbu. Handling performed using a long-boom crane.
Project Execution
Work performed directly
on-site.
Another major project in Saudi Arabia, involving rigging and rope access. It took place at one of the largest flare systems in the KSA—specifically in Yanbu—on a 200-meter-tall tower. We were tasked with replacing three flare tips (HP, LP, and Acid).
For this operation, we had a massive crawler crane with a 223-meter boom at our disposal. We managed to replace all three flare tips in a single day. However, a complication arose once we had lifted the HP and LP flare tips.
The flanges on both pipes were damaged, so we first had to true them up. We performed a comprehensive NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) inspection on all the pipes, from top to bottom. The NDT methods used included VT (Visual Testing), PT (Penetrant Testing), and UT (Ultrasonic Testing).
All work was preceded by detailed planning, and carried out with discipline and skill. The project was successfully completed in 14 days, with no injuries or errors. Once again, thank you to the entire team for doing a great job.
We cannot post images of our projects on Facebook, so they are kept in our internal archive.
