Work on the crane vessel *Hermod*
Technical operations on a Heerema crane vessel. A project involving large-scale floating heavy-lift equipment.
Project Execution
Work performed directly
on-site.
The crane vessels operated by the Heerema company rank among the largest in the world. The Semi-Submersible Crane Vessel (SSCV) *Hermod* was built in Japan in 1978 by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Ltd. The *Hermod* is equipped with two cranes capable of operating either independently or in tandem.
The *Hermod* measures 154 meters in length and 86 meters in width, with a tandem lifting capacity of 8,100 tons. It offers a lifting height of up to 92 meters above the working deck. We installed and welded anodes within the vessel's ballast tanks to mitigate corrosion of the internal hull.
In total, more than 2,000 anodes were welded into the ballast tanks.
